Tami Chipeco is the program coordinator for Brighter Bites in Los Angeles. After receiving her Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science and Policy, Tami worked in a faith-based non-profit to educate and empower college students to grow in their relationship with the Earth and to act upon protecting it. In this role, she learned about the devastating effects of food insecurity and how they are inextricably connected to racial and environmental justice issues. She is passionate about bringing forth holistically healthy communities that are more connected to where their food comes from and more equipped to enjoy every aspect of food.

Combined with her love for food and food culture, Tami’s experience with coaching kids’ sports, creating educational content, and working with volunteers makes her ripe with excitement to facilitate Brighter Bites programming in the Los Angeles area. In her free time, she loves tending to her backyard garden and composting system, as well as spending time in nature and in the kitchen with friends and family.
