With support from the @AmericanHeartAssociation, we’ve expanded to 62 Houston-area schools, helping us bring fresh fruits and vegetables and nutrition education to even more students and families.⁠

From a child who is better able to focus because they have access to nutritious food, to parents who feel empowered to make healthy choices, every story reflects the lasting impact of investing in a student's success.⁠

On July 15, Brighter Bites led the Seed to Service event during the Organic Produce Summit, where volunteers came together to pack approximately 1,000 bags of fresh fruits and vegetables for families across Monterey County. ⁠

That same afternoon, those bags were distributed at Boronda Meadows School alongside health and wellness resources from local community partners, helping make healthy choices more accessible for local families.⁠

We're grateful to everyone who helped turn fresh produce into meaningful community impact. Together, we're creating healthier communities by connecting families with fresh food and nutrition education.

Just in case you needed an excuse to eat ice cream today....Happy National Ice Cream Day! 🍦🍨⁠

We're celebrating with our Banana Ice Cream. It's creamy and delicious and packed with nutrition! Hurry up and enjoy this ice cream before it melts!⁠

INGREDIENTS:⁠
10 very ripe bananas⁠
½ cup low-fat milk⁠
¼ cup honey⁠
½ tsp vanilla extract⁠
⅛ tsp ground nutmeg⁠
Feel free to add flavorings, toppings, or mix-ins like cinnamon, cocoa powder, dried fruit, nuts, jam, coconut flakes, or fresh fruit! ⁠

DIRECTIONS:⁠
Peel bananas and freeze overnight in a freezer bag. Remove the bananas from the freezer and blend in blender or food processor until smooth. Slowly add the remaining ingredients and blend until the bananas have a “frozen yogurt” consistency. (If you have an ice cream maker, pour mixture into maker and churn until there is an “ice cream” texture.) Serve immediately or store in the freezer for up to one week.
