Leidy Vassell is the Senior Program Manager for Brighter Bites, Southwest Florida, where she has proudly served for the past five years. With more than 18 years of experience in education, community engagement and nonprofit leadership, she is dedicated to empowering children and families to build healthier lives through nutrition education, access to fresh produce, and meaningful community partnerships. 

Leidy is passionate about creating opportunities for children to thrive, supporting parents with practical nutrition education, building strong relationships with schools, volunteers, healthcare partners and organizations in the community. Her leadership is rooted in kindness, service, and a belief that lasting change begins with education and genuine human connection. 

Originally from New York City, Leidy now calls Southwest Florida home, where she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors and continuing to inspire healthier futures for the communities she serves. She remains committed to Brighter Bites’ mission of making fresh food and nutrition education accessible to every child and family.
