Ibeth Hernandez is a program coordinator for Brighter Bites in Dallas. She attended Texas Woman’s University, graduating with her undergraduate degree in health studies. She first discovered Brighter Bites when she took a position as a Community Impact intern with American Heart Association. She participated in a future research project on reducing food insecurity in communities. There she learned about Brighter Bites approach and to helping children and their families received fresh produce. Ibeth was fascinated and pursued a part-time position as a program associate.
Ibeth always knew she wanted to help others. She spend her teenage years volunteering in hospitals, Elementary schools, churches, and at the Mayor’s Back to School Fair. In her college years she wrote group papers involving child obesity and food insecurity.
In her spare time, Ibeth enjoys going on hikes, biking, or canoeing in White Rock Lake, and collecting her paintings from Painting with a Twist. Ibeth has a passion for traveling, trying new foods and activities, and most importantly exploring breathtaking scenery.
