Briana Compton is a program coordinator for Brighter Bites in Dallas. She received her undergraduate degree at Colorado State University and a master’s degree at the University of Northern Colorado. While in school she was able to develop her passion for cooking and eating new foods, and discover her love for all things cast iron. In the past, she also had the privilege of working on several research projects with different organizations over the years that highlighted the importance of sharing our lived experiences and building community through food.
When not conducting research, she also is a private chef where she prepares fancy meals for marginalized communities and introduces folks to new foods and flavors.
In her free time she loves to hike new trails, travel, read, listen to podcasts, and watch the Food Network. It is also her hope to one day enter into, and win a chili cook-off competition.
