Shannae Mathis is the Accounting Coordinator at Brighter Bites.  Shannae comes to Brighter Bites with 15 years of experience in the field of Banking, Accounting and Grant Management.  Shannae has worked in the education industry for over 12 years in the Financial Services Department.  At Lamar Consolidated ISD, her primary roles were to evaluate the District’s financial statements, manage and report federal/state funding and maintain the local and federal child nutrition accounts.  At Houston ISD, she was the Accounting Budget Clerk III and responsible for processing and expediting accounts payable and travel reimbursements.  She also worked at The University of Houston as the Financial Coordinator.  There she oversaw the grant funding, payment processing, vendor maintenance and financial reporting.  Before entering the education industry, Shannae worked at JP Morgan Chase Bank as a Risk Operational Analyst, in which she was responsible for identifying financial risk and legitimacy of transactions and accounts.

Shannae is a wife and mother of four beautiful children.   She has three boys and one girl.  She enjoys spending time with her family, mentoring the youth, attending church and traveling.
