Ashton Connely is a program coordinator for Brighter Bites in Houston, Texas. Ashton was born in Galveston, TX and raised in his home town of Fort Worth. He is a proud alum of The C.T. Bauer College of Business located at The University of Houston where he graduated with a BBA in Management and in Marketing. GO COOGS!

During his years at UH Ashton connected with the Houston community through The Collegiate 100 and his fraternity, the Zeta Zeta Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. Mentoring elementary and high school students in the 3rd and 5th wards, rebuilding homes after Harvey, feeding the homeless, and constructing playgrounds for communities are some of the opportunities with these organizations that led Ashton to fall in love with Houston as a city and having a life dedicated to service.

In his free time, you can find Ashton knee deep in sports debates shows like First Things First, Around the Horn, or Undisputed, praying Jerry Jones makes the right moves for his Dallas Cowboys, playing video games like Fallout New Vegas, or capturing pictures at local Houston concerts and festivals. Ashton is excited to join the Brighter Bites Team and looking forward to making an impact in Houston through healthier food choices and smarter food education!
